This is the Center for Latin American and Border Studies’ (CLABS) 1st international symposium. The goal of this symposium is to share research on how the pandemic has affected four key areas of concern in the Americas: (i) food systems and access to food; (ii) public health; (iii) education; and, (iv) transnational migration and governance. Invited scholars and graduate students from throughout the United States and Latin America will present findings and analysis to highlight not only the impacts of the pandemic but also how people have sought to resist, reorganize and adapt to the new challenges.
